TAFE Queensland, is pleased to offer 12 x $5,000 scholarships for for Tourism, Events and related industries as a part of state Tourism Recovery Package
Applications open from 1 – 30 November 2019.
The scholarships are jointly funded by the Commonwealth and state governments, and are available to people living in communities affected by flooding due to the ‘north and far north Queensland monsoonal trough’ in January 2019.
Recipients can choose to study one of six courses from first semester next year (2020):

Diploma of Community Development |
Diploma of Hospitality Management |
Diploma of Business Administration |
Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management |
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery |
Scholarship applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, and must live in one of the following 39 local government areas: Aurukun, Barcoo, Boulia, Burdekin, Burke, Cairns, Carpentaria, Cassowary Coast, Charters Towers, Cloncurry, Cook, Croydon, Diamantina, Douglas, Etheridge, Flinders, Hinchinbrook, Hope Vale, Kowanyama, Lockhart River, Longreach, Mackay, Mareeba, Mapoon, McKinlay, Mornington, Mount Isa, Napranum, Northern Peninsula Area, Palm Island, Pormpuraaw, Richmond, Torres Shire, Torres Strait Island, Townsville, Whitsunday, Winton, Wujal Wujal, Yarrabah.
The scholarships are jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
