Module 2 of the North Queensland Future Leaders program showcased the role our region is playing as leaders in Australia's transition to net zero. As we aspire to become Australia's most livable green manufacturing city, our cohort delved into the innovative green energy technologies that are currently revolutionizing our region. Led by esteemed project leaders, including Daryll Johnston from Windlab, Vik Dhiman from Copperstring 2023, Ed Mason of Jet Zero Australia, and representatives from Townsville Enterprise and the NQH2 Consortium, we were briefed on groundbreaking projects that exemplify our commitment to sustainability. From the visionary initiatives of Lance Moody at Ark Energy's SunHQ Green Hydrogen Hub to the engineering marvels of John Vanderloos at Genex Power Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project, our cohort was inspired by the breadth and depth of green energy endeavors in our region. The highlight of Module 2 was the immersive tours of ARK Energy's site and Sun Metals solar farm, providing firsthand insight into the cutting-edge technologies driving our journey towards a greener future.
